The Maintenance Apprentice is a great starting position for a Mechanic to join as we work with you to train, support and sign-off towards getting your Millwright (Industrial Mechanic 433A) ticket.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will participate in all areas of the shop and be willing to learn and apply new skills. The position will maintain Safety, Production and Quality.

Shifts: 8 hrs rotating, 5 days operation with Overtime on an as-needed basis. Requires some flexible availability for coverage and weekends.

Details

• Ensure all work is conducted in a safe manner — think “Safety First”!
• Responsible for maintaining, installing and making sure things are running.
• Work within/assist the development/implementation of PM programs and TPM.
• Troubleshoot and repair complex production equipment with minimum supervision.
• Operate production equipment and check performance.
• Perform general building maintenance e.g. painting, minor plumbing, etc.
• Assist with tooling changeover and machine start-up.
• Communicate to the Supervisor/Plant Manager completion of work assignments.
• Adhere to established Quality and housekeeping standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

This is a manufacturing facility that goes through high heat and humidity in the summer months.

• Able to read technical drawings & blueprints.
• Knowledge of plastic manufacturing processes is an asset.
